The New Antioxidants - Part 2 | Mesima Mushroom

Craig Kraffert, MD

Dermascope features Dr. Kraffert’s byline article on Mesima Mushroom in the September issue, as part two of his three-part series on “The New Antioxidants” found in Amarte products.

Credited as board certified dermatologist and president of Amarte, he explains the heritage of this ingredient by way of the Donguibogam, and writes that “in addition to its antioxidant properties, mesima mushroom has scientifically documented anti-inflammatory properties” thanks to “Hispidin, a Resveratrol-like compound … identified by Korean researchers as the key antioxidant molecule in thiis extract, which possesses antioxidant efficacy equivalent to Vitamin C.” The article echoes how Amarte is pioneering the use of this ingredient.
